Life...
What is life. It sounds rhetorical, doesn't it? As long as the earth has existed, can anyone boast of a consummate answer to this question.
An online dictionary's attempt at defining life implies that it is The state that follows birth, and precedes death; the state of being alive and living. The period during which one (a person, an animal, a plant, a star) is alive.
This attempt can't be wished away as a poor one. Assuming we take our bearing from this definition, there are so many things that happen in life which cannot be called life. A common colloquialism is " life happens". By this, we seldom refer to the beginning of living. We don't mean that a baby, natural , ideological or material has started existing. In fact, we mean the exact opposite.
When someone gets sick, we say life happens. When a business crumbles, we repeat it, life happens. If there is an accident, or a natural disaster, some would look at it all and echo life happens! It is so serious that those natural disasters and unforeseeable events are referred to as the act of God in a contract agreement.
We can't deny the fact some unpleasant things happen in life, things that shake the very roots of our existence, but can we correctly call that life? Without looking at any dictionaries, how can the very things that come to disrupt life be referred to as life! That can't be life!
Does this reference to disaster as life by any means reflect an unspoken attachment our subconscious has to the negative. Does this suggest that we have trained our mind to see these unpalatable events as life? Do we always expect negative happenings?
Interestingly, we end up attracting to our lives what we expect, whether consciously, subconsciously or unconsciously. If we keep defining death related situations as life, we would accept them gladly if they come. Because we have built a home for them, they would stay put when they come..
You may not control what others call life, but you sure do determine what you call life! Don't call death life. Life means growth, increase, expansion, addition, and every thing that makes us better. Nature teaches us that much.
Let's think differently. Its like reprogramming a computer. A new born baby is how life happens. A promotion is how life happens. The growth of a child is how life happens. The joy and laughter enveloped in love, stamped with peace is how life happens.
When we effectively redefine what to expect from life, we may be in a vantage position to attempt an answer to the question- #what is life.

NEW
The dawn of each day presents us with a fresh platform. It is a new day. When we inhale and exhale, that particular process is over, the next one is entirely new. In a way, it appears nature is a string of new things happening one after the other. Our ability to observe this sequence is blored by how close these new things follow each other. Even the human body is kept alive by a constant death and replacement of dead cells with new ones.
The proximity between the old and the new is significant. It determines how the entire process is assessed. If a human being will survive is significantly affected by how proximate the last breathe is to the next one. The entire solar system is seriously affected by any eclipse of the sun. In the same way, the cancerous cells are the old ones that refused to give way for the new ones on time. The introduction of new things into the human life and the earth at the appropriate time is the hinge that holds the balance in life.
Nature has done her best to keep introducing new things to keep life on earth, but that is not exactly true for us. We are not always in a hurry to introduce new things nor embrace them. Organisations sincerely desire to introduce new things every now and then, but in most cases, the process that births the new things is so complex that the time difference between the old and the new is so much. In some cases, the old stays so long that the activities of the organization appears stuck in a rot.
As individuals, our case is no better than that of organisations and government. We easily settle down and get used to the system that we don't want to rock the boat. We enjoy what we call comfort zones. Actually, these comfort zones are only the old we refuse to let go of for the new. In some cases, we find out that we keep doing the same old things expecting a different result. Unfortunately, we can't advance that way. Just as the freshness of life is tied to new days, our freshness is tied to new things. The human body thrives on new breathe. Our very relevance as an organization or as individuals in our society can only persist on constant, timely introduction of new things. New ideas. New approach. New perspectives. New relationships. New passion.
Another interesting dimension to the introduction of new things by nature is the ability not to tilt, distort or alter the entire process by the new thing. The new air introduced into the human body does not break the chain or convert the respiratory system into the digestive system. It come to improve on what has been, not to destroy it. The new day adds to the days, it doesn't bring the days to an end. Hence, the balance must be created,on the need to introduce new things and the need to ensure that the new things must improve the system and not destroy it.
When was the last time you deliberately introduced what makes others arround you stop to admire, desire and in fact follow in your steps. Could it be the product you offer the public has become so static and predictable that no one is awed any more by it. Look around, look within. There is something new about you others need to see. It is better. It adds, not subtract. Bring them forth. Implement that new idea. Put on a new smile. Do something new with the same old materials you have. If every significant part of nature is wired to thrive on new things, so are you. Invariably, your ability to birth new things may be grossly underestimated. You can keep us all gaping! NEW!

Responsible....
The dilemma of coming into existence with out one's participation leaves one a bit helpless. You were on your own, wherever you were when two People, male and female had a sexual intercourse, for whatever reason. It happen that the sperm cell met with an ova and pronto, a zygote was formed. After a period of time, you were birthed. From your conception to your delivery, I doubt if you were responsible for anything. The fact that you can read this means someone also became responsible for you at the budding years of your life. Apparently, this concept, responsibility, was introduced to you much later in life. If you are fortunate, as a child. At other instances, as an adolescent and in some grave situations, as a fully matured adult.
Thus, we are left with only one option, to take over what we didn't start and give meaning to what we had no idea of why it started in the first place-Life! Interestingly, ours attitude towards this issue of responsibility does not change the fact that wes are indeed responsible. We may be ignorant of the fact, but we are responsible. We may shy away from it, we are still responsible.
While we may still be trying to understand the degree of our responsibility for ourselves, it is important to realize that we are also responsible for what happens in our environment, in our earth. This may not be difficult to understand when we see it in a collective sense, particularly with the evidence of global warming, wars and the many calamities besieging mankind because of man's activity, however, we will find it a bit challenging to accept individual responsibility for a general situation. Put differently, I am not a victim of what happens around me, I am the cause. Does that sound too ambitious? I hope not. When Adam sinned in the garden of eden( Genesis 3), the earth was cursed for his sake. What did the earth do to warrant the curse? I do not have an idea. Does this mean everything around me is tied to me, not the other way round? It appears so. While not attempting to belabour the issue, notice that before Man was created, everything had been made and given to him to enjoy. So, we can safely argue that they were made for man, not man for them. Little wonder it appears absurd to live for food, which leads to obesity. But that is not our focus. In Genesis 8: 20-22, when Noah built an alter and sacrificed on it, God said in His heart that He wouldn't curse the ground, earth, again because of man. That is huge. Adam attracted a curse by his action, Noah's action led to a reversal of that same curse. If Adam brought a curse that Noah reversed, both because of what they did, it follows therefore that your action can bring a curse to your family, business, community, nation and the planet. If the wrong things are all around you, do not fold your arms and feel you are a victim, arise, and do something to reverse the curse. Noah did not cause the situation that led to the countless dead bodies that were littered all over his environment when he came out of the ark, but he realized that he could not afford to play the blame game. Without being told, he had to do something. He built an alter and offered the only other recorded sacrifice in the Bible after Cain and Table's sacrifice. Noah made a sacrifice we are all beneficiaries of till date. You can also make a sacrifice that will reverse the course in you're environment for generations to come. As much as you are doing very well as someone responsible for yourself, its time to awake to your responsibility for you're land, your industry, nation and generation. You may have sown seeds for your personal needs, I have done that too. But it is time to sow seed as a sacrifice to bring into government righteousness, justice and accountability. We can't sit back and watch things decay around us and end up only complaining and tweeting the latest bad news. We must arise as priests and offer on the alter sacrifices that will herald a new era for the kingdom of the world has become that of Christ and His servants, and we shall reign! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE, I AM RESPONSIBLE!!!

When....
I have been trying to download an app for my device but all to no avail. At each attempt, my progress always stopped at the penultimate step do complete download. Frustrating, isn't it?
We experience such always. We do our best in most things, we see results in some, we don't see any headway in others. This circle of half or incomplete attainments litter our part. Unwittingly, we either give up trying or we get exasperated with our drive for results. It leaves us with the unanswered question of when. When will it be done. When will the result be seen. When will the problems abate. When will he come. When will the process be perfected.
The issue of when is strictly tied to time. Time controls everything we do. Nothing ever happens outside of time. Birth, growth, death, decomposition, breathing, every single thing happens in time. If we can travel in time, while our challenge remains static, we would see the end of the challenge, what led to that outcome we saw, return to the static problem, infect the said discovery and patiently wait for the future we have already seen. Wow! Science fiction? I doubt.
We always do it. We take actions today with assurance of an outcome. That is why when the contrary manifests, we feel frustrated. It may interest you to know that each time we imagine an outcome, we have embarked on that time travel. Most times, we do not do what we have already seen in our subconscious.
While we often know the outcome, we fail to be confident that we would have the result we saw. One imagines grandiose wealth, hopes for it, but lacks the confidence to translate that imagination into reality. How do we get convinced that that intangible we saw is as portent if not more portent than the strongest facts around. Simply because time hasn't made it possible does not mean its now impossible.
Let us insist on the future we have seen, its a question of time and that future we saw will manifest. By the way, time creates nothing. It only manifests what it sees. Be the future you desire. If your question is when, then look at the sun set and sun rise, its soon!
